The Study of Code Mixing used by the People in Taccorong Village -Bulukumba Regency
Abstract
This study aims to classify the types of code-mixing used in Taccorong Village and to find out the factors that influence the use of code-mixing in Taccorong Village. The source of data in this study was society’s conversation by recording the researchers used descriptive qualitative method because the result of the data analysis was in descriptive phenomenon such as words, sentence and utterance. The instruments of this research were voice recorder, pen, and field note. The research used observation, recording and interview as the data collection techniques to analyze the types of code-mixing and factors that influence the use code-mixing used in Taccorong Village of Bulukumba Regency. The researchers found the results of the data analysis revealed the types of code-mixing used in Taccorong Village they were insertion, alternation, and congruent lexicalization. Then, the factors that influence the use code-mixing in Taccorong Village were; bilingualism, speaker and speaking partner, social community, situation and vocabulary.
