Abstract

Makassar is a metropolitan city that has a strategic position with rapidly growing economic conditions along with the entry of the Free Market Competition Era known as MEA. Makassar City, especially Paccerakang Village which has several people who are engaged in this craft. With this activity, it is hoped that it will provide a solution for partners of the rigging business group in Paccerakg Village, in order to increase product competitiveness by applying science and technology. The problem faced by partners is that the quality of the product is known that this craft product still looks untidy, only has 1 type of motif, the quality of the rope is low, and there is only 1 type of bag, namely a bag for traveling and the most important thing is that it has not the characteristics of Makassar Bugis. Method The implementation of this activity is a participatory method, which involves as many partners as possible in activities, lectures, discussions and practices. The plan for implementing activities and evaluating this program is divided into 2, namely preparation for implementing activities and evaluating activities and planning for activity budgets. The target output from this training in rigging craft (macrame talikur) is to be able to produce products in the form of bags made of talikur which were initially ordinary, which eventually had Bugis Makassar nuances so that later they could be marketed both locally and nationally.
