Abstract

This study was conducted to determine the effect of probiotic lactic acid bacteria on the Total Plate Count Test in broiler meat. Treatment on broiler was carried out for 35 days with addition of probiotic Effective Microorganisms-4 (EM-4). The treatment group was distributed in four groups of experimental feed formulation. The feed in formulated in P0 not using probiotics, P1 using probiotics of 1 ml/liter of drinking water, P2 using probiotics of 1.5 ml/liter of drinking water and P3 using probiotics of 2 ml/liter of drinking water. Based on the results of the Analysis of Variance (ANOVA) showed p smaller 0.05, which means the data has a significant difference to Total Plate Count Test with the level of microbial contamination in the treatment of adding EM-4 to feed and not exceed the SNI limit.
