Abstract

The school is an educational institution as a teaching forum under the supervision of teachers and is the best public policy tool as an effort to improve students' knowledge and skills. SD Inpres Cambaya IV Makassar City is one of the schools whose assessment process is still conventional, so that parents or guardians of students wait for student assessment information for a long period of time at the end of the semester. In addition, the problem experienced by parents is the lack of communication between teachers and parents, especially during a pandemic. Parents are constrained to know directly the development of their children because there is no communication media that can be used by the school to provide more accurate information. The application of a website-based digital information system in value processing and communication space between teachers and parents is an alternative solution to the problems that occur at SD Inpres Cambaya IV. The design and development of applications applies the System Development Life Cycle (SDLC) approach with the Prototyping method.  After the application development process was made, we carried out a series of activities in the school in the form of socialization, training and mentoring to optimize teachers' abilities in processing grades and facilitate communication between teachers and parents by using the chat feature contained in the application. Based on the results of the tests that have been carried out, 87% of the improvement in the assessment process is carried out by teachers who can optimize the assessment process, and 78.5% of parents can find out information on school activities and student development with the chat feature.
