Teachers’ Responses on Earlier Halal Food Socialization at Schools in Makassar City

Abstract

This writing was objected to find out the teachers’ responses of the earlier halal food socialization at schools in Makassar city South Sulawesi. Halal food socialization had been being socialized by the regional government of South Sulawesi since the year of 2019, and Makassar is the center of socialization.  The latest socialization was on March 23th, 2022 through forum group discussion. after this socialization taking place, it seemed that there was not any significance impact to community like hospitality industry, food industry, and people’s consumption. Makassar is the city where business people meet, the buyers and sellers meet. The meeting is usually about business and tourism talk. Willy-nilly the government of south Sulawesi especially the culture and tourism office has had the important role on this in order to get more Moslem travelers and to get the easy way of getting Halal food around the city. So, the earlier and better introduction and socialization is by coming to schools. Schools are the group family of educated people. They are able to introduce and to socialize in schools where their parents can be involved as well. This writing had tried to find the data with quantitative descriptive of school teachers in Makassar city. The total respondents who gave responses were 27 of 30 schools. and the final results showed that mostly the respondents’ responses were agreed and needed to socialize three times a year. This research was conducted in February, March, and April 2022.
