Blockchain-enabled Halal Food Transparency: From Farm to Fork
Abstract
For Muslim consumers, ensuring the authenticity of halal food that complies with Islamic dietary requirements is crucial. However, this has proven to be difficult due to the complexity of food supply systems. Enter blockchain technology, which is renowned for its security and transparency. The entire halal food supply chain, from farm to table, is examined in this essay in terms of how blockchain might increase transparency. It explores the significance of halal cuisine historically as well as current problems with authenticity and traceability. It investigates how blockchain has already enhanced traceability, quality control, and supply chain management in the larger food business by drawing on a variety of sources. Additionally, this study examines how blockchain can specifically improve the transparency of halal food. by reviewing case studies, it reveals the advantages and disadvantages that may exist.
