PKM Utilization of used Cooking Oil into Aromatherapy Candles as an Environment-Based Business Idea in Padding Village, Sanrobone District, Takalar Regency
Abstract
Used cooking oil can damage health if used repeatedly and as waste that can damage the environment if it is simply thrown away, so prevention is needed by processing used cooking oil into economically valuable products such as aromatherapy candles. Paddinging Village is one of the areas in the Sanrobone District, Takalar Regency, which is the place where service is carried out with the Village Head as a partner in this service program. The main problems experienced this village are (1) People still use cooking oil repeatedly for cooking without replacing it with new cooking oil. (2) Used cooking oil that is no longer used thrown away carelessly so that it is waste which can cause environmental damage and pollution. The objectives of this the service program are (1) The community can use cooking oil properly and correctly to maintain health, (2) The community can utilize used cooking oil to recyclable products that are useful and have economic value. The solutions given are (1) Providing an understanding of the impacts caused by using used cooking oil repeatedly, (2) Providing an understanding of how to process used cooking oil into aromatherapy candles as a new business idea. The method applied is Counseling. The output targets to be achieved are (1) Publication in National or International Seminars (5) Articles Scientific in National with ISSNs, and (6) Textbooks with ISBNs. The continuation of this PKM Program is that Partners can encourage the community to establish new businesses in the Environmentally Friendly Industrial Sector.
