Abstract

The obligation to pay zakat is one of the pillars that must be believed by every Muslim. Amil Zakat Institutions (LAZ) in Indonesia as one of the institutions that receive and distribute zakat are obliged to carry out their duties in accordance with the laws and regulations in force in Indonesia. The distribution of zakat is carried out by laz to the rightful party (muzakki) through the process of determining the amount manually, namely calculating according to the concepts regulated in Islamic jurisprudence. In this study, the authors provide recommendations for carrying out the management of zakat using website-based information technology. The purpose of designing a prototype web-based system is to contribute to IT-based zakat management in accordance with zakat law so that zakat management productivity can be realized so that the welfare of the ummah can be realized. The module made in this application is a module for calculating zakat fitrah and zakat mal (zakat on gold and silver, agriculture, and commerce). This technology-based zakat calculation is able to provide accurate zakat calculation results and can provide output in the form of recipient reports and the distribution of zakat to the zakat recipient community (muzakki) so that the effectiveness of the distribution can be accounted for.
