Water Quality Analysis of Dug Wells in Terms of Physical Parameters of TDS, DO and pH in Mandai Sub-district, Maros
Abstract
The condition of dug well water is an important factor in the provision of clean
water, but it often does not meet health standards. This study aims to analyze the water quality
of dug wells in Mandai Subdistrict, Maros Regency, by measuring the physical parameters of
TDS, pH, and DO. The methods used include water sampling from dug wells and laboratory
analysis to determine TDS, pH, and DO values. The results showed that the TDS value was
468 ppm, pH 6.3, and DO 4.2. Based on these results, the dug well water in the study area does
not fully meet the established clean water standards. The implications of these findings indicate
the need for efforts to improve and manage water quality in Mandai Sub-district to improve
the health and welfare of the local community. This study also contributes to the development
of well water quality theory and can be used as a reference for future research.
