The Correlation of Nutritional Status and Eruption of Permanent Teeth in Children Age 6-12 Years
Abstract
Tooth eruption shows the emergence of teeth through the gingiva, which means continuous tooth movement from tooth bud to occlusal contact. Nutritional health is important during the growth and development of teeth, each tooth experiences a different development cycle as seen from each stage of development. There are many factors behind tooth eruption, such as genetics, race and nutrition. Different nutritional conditions can affect the timing of tooth eruption. To determine the correlation between nutritional status and permanent tooth eruption in children aged 6–12 years. This type of research was carried out, looking at the condition of partially erupted, functionally erupted and unerupted. The results of this research data were collected and analyzed using the chi-square test and Spearman correlation. Based on the results of the Chi-Square test, it is obtained (P-Value <0.05), which means there is a fairly strong correlation and correlation test, which means a significant correlation between nutritional status and the eruption of permanent teeth in children aged 6–12 years.
